EOCF strengthens children and families through early learning (Head Start, Early Head Start and ECEAP, the state of Washington’s early childhood education program) and community partnerships. We serve more than 1,300 children (ages birth to 5) and families in poverty every year. More children are experiencing Sensory Processing Disorder than ever, and it challenges their ability to learn! Helping children in our 62 classrooms requires more effective tools to enhance their learning and achieve school readiness. Your gift will help children be successful every day by providing these tools! The first $3,000 given will be doubled, thanks to our generous donors who created a $3,000 matching fund: Winston & Jan Asai, Elizabeth Bowman, David Hajek & Meridee Pabst, Ben & Mei Taylor and Ultimate Truck Service. Thank you.
Your generosity will provide tactile sensory tools to calm and soothe children, as well as dolls and books that promote understanding of developmental and intellectual disabilities. 1) Sensory kit = $101.56: Weighted comfort lap pad, sensory balls and animals; stability cushion; Fidgipod and noise canceling headphones. Items are $3.85-$25.99 each. 2) Developmental and Disabilities Dolls ($25-$51 each) and Storybooks ($4.99-$16.99 each).
