Growing the Future: EOCF’s Inaugural Outdoor Classroom in Battle Ground

Announcing the first EOCF Garden in Battle Ground!

At Educational Opportunities for Children & Families (EOCF), we believe that hands-on learning is the foundation for a successful future. That is why we are thrilled to announce our newest initiative for early childhood education in Southwest Washington: the EOCF Garden, an outdoor classroom and sensory exploration area!

Since 1967, EOCF has been connecting, empowering, and transforming the lives of children and families. Now, we are taking that mission outside. Our new outdoor classroom will provide a vibrant, interactive space where our early learning scholars can connect with nature, nutrition, and environmental stewardship.

A Seed-to-Table Learning Experience

Located at our Battle Ground property, the EOCF Garden is designed to be a fully immersive educational environment. Every season, children will experience the joy of planting, growing, and harvesting fresh foods. This “seed-to-table” approach allows our scholars to develop healthy lifelong habits while learning the science of how things grow.

The outdoor classroom will feature:

Vibrant Growing Spaces: Three fully functioning greenhouses, raised fruit and vegetable beds, and dedicated planting areas.
Engaging Play Areas: Sensory activity spaces designed for physical and imaginative play.
Native Landscapes: A walking trail featuring Pacific Northwest native foliage to encourage environmental awareness.

Celebrate With Us: Community BBQ & Grand Opening

We are building something beautiful in Battle Ground, and we want you to be part of it! Join us for a free Community BBQ to celebrate the grand opening of our inaugural garden.

You will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the emerging greenhouses, garden beds, and play areas while enjoying food and community connection.
