Meet Carlos and his family, a valued Program Family of EOCF, celebrated for their efforts in utilizing various Pre-K programs EOCF has to offer while working to better themselves for the next generation in their family. Quoted below is a member of Carlos’ family reflecting on the experiences at EOCF.

Holistic Programs

By offering support with nutrition to home-based learning opportunities, EOCF has been able to meet and exceed the needs of local families seeking assistance and educational growth.

“I’m very thankful for EOCF preschool and the teachers. It has been an amazing opportunity to be part of this incredible group of people. My family and I really appreciate how much help we have received! It’s such a great help that they provide food and supplies and so many other resources. For example, they provided a tablet for my son to do his zoom meetings. That is such a blessing! Times are hard for kids right now with no in-person schooling, and they feel lost at home without it. Zoom meetings 3 times a week are so very helpful for my son, because they help him feel like he is still in school with his friends and has a way to communicate with them. Yes, it is a little harder doing it on a screen instead of in person, but at least teachers and kids are communicating. That has helped my son a lot because he is a kid who likes socializing. I’m very thankful for the zoom meetings and the time the teachers give to their students.”

Staff & Relationship Building

The Family Services along with the Education Teams at EOCF provide direct support for both the children and the families.

“I have developed a good relationship with my son’s teacher, Ms. Dema. She is such a wonderful teacher and person. She goes above and beyond to help my son learn new things during every zoom session. He gets very excited when he knows he is about to see her! She recently had to stay home for two weeks with health issues, but she still found a way to communicate with her students. It was amazing to see that she did that for the kids! It tells me as a parent that she cares deeply for her students and enjoys her job. She is an awesome teacher and person. She is always there if my husband and I need any help with Carlos’s education, and we all really appreciate Ms. Dema’s support.”

Impact on Their Lives

EOCF seeks to serve generations of families furthest from opportunity. Thanks to the programs and services we provide, families can benefit from various tools and resources throughout their time at EOCF.

“EOCF has made a big difference in my child’s, and my family’s, lives. It has been a hard 8 months living with the pandemic, and my family and I have experienced many difficult changes. We are grateful and blessed to be part of the EOCF program. It’s incredibly awesome to see my child happy every day and learning new things. Thank you so much to all the teachers and staff, and for all of the resources we have received. We are one happy and blessed family because of all of your support.”
