Mariia Culp, Program Parent
Where are you from?
I have Russian and Ukrainian ancestors, lived, and taught in South Korea and currently reside in Vancouver, WA.
How are you associated with EOCF?
I have 2 children and they both got lucky to be a part of EOCF programs.
How long have you been involved with Head Start?
My older boy, Harry, who is now a first grader in the public school, entered Head Start program in the year of when COVID came in our lives. He completed an online program and graduated with his teacher as his mentor and friend, there were tears on his graduation day. My 3 years old daughter Aurora has been with EOCF for 3 years (since birth).
How has EOCF changed your family’s life?
Aurora started in the Early Head Start program. We were blessed with a wonderful and caring early childhood educator at EOCF. We had an amazing experience, learned a ton while having fun! Every time we had our teacher visiting us, Aurora was waiting for her with a great excitement! Aurora turned 3 recently and transitioned to ECEAP program at the Learning Avenues site. It is a new adventure for our family and we are very happy to be a part of EOCF family.
If there were no programs like Head Start…
