“We grew up in a low-income household with many other family members, my mother instilled in me the importance of being involved in my school and community at a young age. I hope to do the same by being an advocate for my child and others in her classroom.”
Monica Roberts, Program Parent

Where are you from?

Originally from Wenatchee, WA but currently live in Long Beach, WA.

How are you associated with EOCF?

My daughter is enrolled in EOCF’s Long Beach Head Start program and she started in September 2022.

How long have you been involved with Head Start?

I was enrolled in Head Start, myself, at a young age.

How has EOCF changed your family’s life?

We grew up in a low-income household with many other family members, my mother instilled in me the importance of being involved in my school and community at a young age. I hope to do the same by being an advocate for my child and others in her classroom.

If there were no programs like Head Start…

Since having my daughter enrolled in the program, I see her social and academic skills blossoming.
